Spammers are crafty. Spam e-mail, spam blogs (splogs), spam pings (spings); I’ve even noticed some Flickr images that have a pretty high advertising index, like this one, and this one.
Which got me thinking, how long before RSS gets regulated? Can it be regulated? Telemarketing, fax and e-mail have all seen regulation over the past 5-10 years. Is RSS next?

I’m confused. How is that picture of the loaf of bread and example of splog?
Or was it the name of the bakery in the title?
Personally, I think the picture has a pretty high advertising index. Just my opinion. I stumbled upon your picture because I am subscribed to the “Richmond” flickr tag. I like your photos, by the way. From following your photostream now and then, I have come to the conclusion that you’re an owner of the Montana Bread location in Carytown. Most of the photos tagged with Richmond are of buildings, parks, parties etc. Your bread photos were tagged Richmond, too. It’s a perfectly legitimate tag for the photo, I just felt it seemed a little out of place in a kinda self-promoting kind of way when compared with other pictures tagged with “Richmond”. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what you’ve done. Though, if you are an owner of the store, or someone who stands to profit from displaying your product on flickr, it counts as advertising in my mind.
Unfortunately I wasn’t an owner. Otherwise I would still be there. Nope just an employee who likes taking photos and bread seemed to me a fun easy subject. No advertising involved.
