Couple of things about the upcoming ASAE Convention in Nashville

#1. A gentleman by the name of Rex Hammock has taken the lead on organizing the informal Association BloggerCon in Nashville. If any association bloggers have got their ears on and want to attend, just comment here and I’ll put you in touch with Rex.

#2. ASAE has this cool Web application that helps match you with other annual meeting registrants based on your interests. Once you complete your profile, the application displays a “bulls-eye” plotting your profile and those of the other attendees who have taken the time to fill out the questionnaire. It’s pretty cool. Interestingly, one of the people closest to my bulls-eye is Dr. Steve Carey, CAE of Association Management & Marketing Resources. He’ll be speaking at the M&M Symposium next week, and I also have booked him to address our annual convention of state CPA society executives this August. Dr. Carey has some really great resources on his Web site and is, in my humble opinion, one of the leading authorities on enhancing and effectively communicating the value of membership.

I wouldn’t call it a “bloggercon” — Just a meetup of bloggers from the association world. Nothing official, or that will interfere with the ASAE meeting.
