The past four years have been really, really good to me, in no small part because of the VSCPA. I earned my CAE while with VSCPA, and have grown tremendously as an association executive and leader. So it is with some sadness and some gladness that I’m letting you know that my last day with the VSCPA is this Friday. I’m joining the staff of the Virginia Association of REALTORS (VAR) on August 10. VAR is a 40,000 member professional society based in Richmond.
The short version of this story is that I was not looking for a new job, but a new job came looking for me. It was a really difficult decision to leave VSCPA, but in the end, VAR presented an opportunity I just couldn’t say no to.
One of the most exciting things about the new position is that I’ll be leading VAR’s social web strategy and implementation. In addition to this, I’ll continue doing the traditional membership type work like outreach, networking, engagement, experience, and so on.
I’ll have much more to share in the days and weeks to come, but in the meantime, I had to get the word out. I’ve been sitting on the news for a week and just had to get this out there.

Congrats Ben. Best of luck.
I have to ask…why do they capitalize every letter in Realtors?
Congrats Ben. They are very lucky to have you!
Congrats on the new gig!
Actually, Matt, I haven’t been briefed on the branding, so I don’t know. However, I often see the (R) after REALTORS, so I’m guessing that I’m actually breaking the style standard by doing without it. Thanks for the best wishes, everyone!
The new job sounds really interesting. I hope it takes you to new and fascinating places in your career.
Good for you Ben! I know you will be missed at VSCPA, but there are many great things ahead for you, and VAR is just the first among them. You rock my friend!
yes, the official legal term is REALTOR(R). Congrats, Ben, and welcome to the REALTOR(R) family!
Congratulations Ben! You deserve it.
congratulations!
