Weenies weaken wikis

It’s a shame that some malicious people intentionally defile what is otherwise a virtual community’s shining achievement.

I find it interesting that Wikipedia is only now, four years after its launch, considering controls. I guess any association that is trying to “open source” itself should consider Wikipedia’s plight.

Wikipedia has had controls in place for awhile now, but the determined vandal will always come up with a new way to defeat them. That they are focusing in on this issue more is a good thing, in my view.

I’ve never updated a wikipedia page, but always figured it was completely open system.
